Harapan Kita National Cardiac Hospital in Jakarta has taken a lead in the field of cardiac surgery. They invited SS Innovations from India and its CEO Dr Sudhir Srivastava to demonstrate their robotic technology through a Totally Endoscopic Coronary Artery Bypass. Additionally, other robotic surgical procedures like Internal Mammary Artery CABG and ASD Repair were successfully performed. Hospital director Dr Iwan Dakota stated, "We have been actively exploring the integration of robotic surgery in cardiovascular care and reviewed the globally available surgical robotic systems. The SSi Mantra is the only system that supports the full spectrum of robotic cardiac surgery." In June, SS Innovations received regulatory approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Health to market their flagship robot-assisted surgery system.This innovative approach not only offers precise and minimally invasive procedures but also holds the potential to improve patient outcomes and recovery times. The use of robotics in cardiac surgery allows for enhanced visualization and dexterity, reducing the risk of complications and providing a more comfortable experience for patients.

Medical Record System for Closed Health Facilities in South Korea

The South Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare has initiated a pilot project for a medical record storage system designed for closing or shuttered medical institutions. This electronic system enables patients from such facilities to access their medical records. The pilot is being conducted in collaboration with the Korea Health Industry Development Institute and involves 12 public health centres that use commercial EMR systems with automatic medical record transfer functionality. The revision in the Medical Act in 2020 led to the creation of this system, which started in October 2023 and is targeted for an official launch by June next year. Private hospital group KPJ Health in Malaysia has partnered with Chinese medical AI company Airdoc to enhance their diagnostic capabilities. KPJ Health Central Hospital signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on using Airdoc's diagnostics AI. HealthCare Global Enterprises, one of India's largest cancer care networks, has joined forces with Accenture to utilize new and large AI for cancer research. Their collaboration aims to apply AI and deep learning to analyze cancer data and gain a deeper understanding of different cancers.
