New Family Entertainment Hub Opens in Tucson
2025-04-16

A vibrant new hotspot for entertainment has made its debut in midtown Tucson, providing a diverse range of indoor activities tailored for families and individuals alike. Nestled at the former site of Bed Bath & Beyond near an existing cinema, this expansive 35,000-square-foot facility is the brainchild of University of Arizona graduates Scott Cassell and Josh Snider, renowned co-owners of RoadHouse Cinemas. The establishment, named Roadies Lanes + Games + Gastropub, offers a blend of thrilling experiences including augmented reality bowling lanes, an extensive arcade collection, axe throwing, and laser tag games. General Manager Faith Oliver highlights these attractions as key components that cater to a broad spectrum of interests.

At the heart of this innovative venture lies a commitment to offering a comprehensive entertainment experience. Visitors can enjoy a movie screening and then seamlessly transition to engaging in arcade gaming or participating in a friendly bowling match next door. Moreover, the venue features a gastropub with live music nights, enriching the overall atmosphere with culinary delights and lively performances. The strategic repurposing of the large retail space not only reduced construction costs but also maximized the potential for diverse offerings within one location. This approach aligns with current trends in urban development, focusing on adaptive reuse of commercial spaces.

The opening of Roadies has been met with enthusiastic reception from the community, contributing positively to the local economy by employing nearly 200 individuals. Benny Martinez, a satisfied patron, praises the venue's inviting ambiance and versatile appeal suitable for both adults and children. While drawing inspiration from similar concepts like The Railway in Colorado Springs, there are no immediate plans to duplicate this model elsewhere, such as in Scottsdale. With its unique charm and varied attractions, Roadies sets itself apart as a cornerstone of entertainment culture in Tucson, promoting social interaction and economic growth through creativity and innovation.
