In May, KQNY, an independent community radio station located near the Town Hall Theatre, joined the festivities by distributing promotional materials and engaging with visitors about its initiatives. Meanwhile, The Quincy Hub, a collaboration between local entities, introduced two talented woodworkers whose creations reflect the region’s natural beauty. Additionally, the Vortex Fire Dance troupe entertained attendees with colorful flag performances, promoting confidence-building activities for all ages.
On Main Street, art from students of various educational institutions was showcased. At the Plumas Arts Capitol Gallery, works from Quincy Jr./Sr. High School and Feather River College adorned the walls, highlighting the talent nurtured under experienced educators like Danielle Frid. Her guidance allows students to experiment with diverse mediums before focusing on personal artistic projects at the advanced placement level. One such student, Adina Black, explored the emotional impact of color through her artwork, which was featured prominently during the event.
The Main Street Artists gallery also celebrated the achievements of Feather River College students, thanks in part to professor Josh Olivera. His dedication ensures that both students and community members benefit from a wide array of visual arts courses offered in the evenings. Lydia Grace Bacon exemplifies this commitment, having developed her skills significantly over the past semesters. Outside the gallery, Bear Creek Frames owner Mark Reynolds expressed his support for local artists and announced plans for the upcoming Lost Sierra Plein Air Festival, further enriching Quincy's artistic landscape.
