Austin-Based Innovators Partner with Supply Chain Giant

In the heart of Texas, Apptronik, an innovative robotics company, has joined forces with Jabil, a global leader in supply chain solutions. On February 28, 2025, Apptronik announced their latest venture, which involves deploying Apollo humanoid robots in Jabil’s factories. These robots will undertake a range of mundane tasks such as inspection, sorting, delivery, and placement. Notably, Jabil will also be responsible for manufacturing these robots, creating a self-sustaining cycle where robots help build other robots.

The Apollo robots are designed to seamlessly integrate into environments built for humans, using the same tools and occupying the same spaces. This approach ensures that no modifications are required to accommodate the robots. Jeff Cardenas, CEO of Apptronik, emphasized the importance of this design philosophy, stating that it allows robots to fit effortlessly into human-centric environments.

This is not the first time Apptronik has ventured into industrial applications. In March 2024, the company partnered with Mercedes-Benz to test Apollo robots in automotive manufacturing lines. Additionally, BMW successfully trialed humanoid robots from another California-based company, Figure, at its Spartanburg facility in June 2024. These milestones highlight the growing acceptance and integration of humanoid robots in modern manufacturing.

From its origins in a University of Texas lab in 2016, Apptronik has steadily expanded its reach, including collaborations with NASA in 2022. The company’s commitment to innovation and practical application is evident in the Apollo robot's versatile capabilities.
