Fourteen-year-old freshman Ella Cherry from Bellwood-Antis School has made waves in the world of track and field. Her recent victories at both the Bellwood-Antis Invitational and the Altoona Mountain Lion Classic highlight her exceptional talent. Not only did she secure wins in the 100-meter dash and long jump, but she also achieved a personal best in the triple jump and won the 200-meter dash. With her current standing among the top five athletes in the Altoona Mirror honor roll for multiple events, Cherry's future looks promising.
Ella Cherry’s journey into competitive athletics began with an early interest in track and field, nurtured by her experience as a high-level gymnast. During the Bellwood-Antis Invitational, Cherry demonstrated her prowess by winning the 100-meter dash in a swift 12.85 seconds and leaping 16 feet, 9 inches in the long jump.
