Samsung Enhances Power-Saving Features with One UI 7
2025-05-16

Smartphones today come equipped with power-saving modes designed to extend battery life. These modes typically reduce background app activity, limit syncing, and lower screen brightness among other optimizations. Samsung stands out from competitors like Google, OnePlus, and Xiaomi by offering highly customizable power-saving options. Since the introduction of One UI 3.0 in 2020, Samsung has allowed users to individually toggle specific features rather than applying a one-size-fits-all solution. With the launch of One UI 7, Samsung adds three new power-saving settings, enhancing user control over their device's energy consumption.

Granular Control Over Battery Life

In the realm of technological advancements, Samsung continues to refine its approach to power management. For years, Galaxy devices have offered preset modes such as "Power Saving" and "Ultra Power Saving." However, beginning with One UI 3.0, users gained the ability to customize their power-saving experience. This update introduced five key toggles that remained consistent until the arrival of One UI 7. Now, users can opt for reduced screen refresh rates, enable Dark mode for better efficiency on AMOLED displays, and set the screen timeout to 30 seconds. These settings are conveniently accessible via Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery > Power Saving Mode.

Beyond manual adjustments, One UI 7 introduces an Adaptive Power Saving mode. This feature intelligently adapts based on user behavior, providing a hands-off approach to battery conservation. To activate it, navigate to the Power Saving Mode screen, tap the menu icon, and toggle on Adaptive Power Saving.

From reducing motion smoothness to enabling Dark mode, these enhancements reflect Samsung's commitment to empowering users with greater control over their device's performance and longevity.

With these new features, Samsung not only caters to tech-savvy individuals who prefer detailed customization but also simplifies the process for those who prefer automation. The integration of adaptive technologies ensures that even casual users benefit from optimized battery life without needing to delve into complex settings.

As technology evolves, so too must our methods of managing resources. Samsung's latest updates underscore the importance of flexibility and personalization in modern smartphone design. By granting users more tools to tailor their experience, Samsung sets a benchmark for innovation in power management solutions.
