2025-04-15

A multi-vehicle accident occurred near a middle school, yet fortunately, none of the students aboard the bus were harmed. Around 4 p.m., authorities responded to a collision involving three vehicles just outside Sterling Middle School. The sequence of events began when one car exited a parking lot and struck another vehicle, which subsequently collided with the school bus transporting children home.

As a result of the impact, the school bus veered off the road and came to rest on the lawn of Newman Golf Course located across the street. Seven students were present on the bus at the time of the incident, all of whom escaped injury. Emergency services attended to the drivers involved; three individuals sustained minor injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals for further evaluation. One of the drivers required extraction from their vehicle due to the severity of the crash.

Thankfully, no life-threatening conditions were reported among those involved. The local fire department assisted a total of eleven individuals, with seven declining medical transport and four being taken to hospitals as a precautionary measure. Following the investigation into the cause of the accident, all lanes of traffic have resumed normal operations. This event underscores the importance of cautious driving, particularly in areas frequented by school buses and young pedestrians, highlighting our collective responsibility to prioritize safety in such zones.
