2025-05-05

A traffic incident involving a school transportation vehicle occurred on Friday afternoon in Dauphin County, raising concerns about road safety and driver attentiveness. The event unfolded along Main Street, just west of Arch Street, where a 2019 Ford Transit collided with the rear of a stationary 2017 Honda Civic. This car was reportedly waiting to make a turn into Boyer’s parking lot when the collision happened.

Among those affected were six young passengers, whose ages spanned from five to seventeen years old. Thankfully, all children, as well as both drivers involved, were thoroughly assessed by emergency medical services personnel on-site. According to state police officials, no one sustained any injuries during this accident. However, the impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, necessitating their removal via towing services.

Authorities cited the operator of the Ford Transit for failing to maintain an appropriate following distance, underscoring the importance of vigilant driving practices. While such incidents can be unsettling, they also highlight the critical need for increased awareness and adherence to safe driving protocols to protect everyone sharing the roads.
