South Georgia Set to Celebrate Black Music Month with Vibrant Gospel Festival
2025-06-06

A joyous celebration of African American music culture is set to take place in Valdosta, as VocalFlo organizes the 3rd Annual South Georgia Gospel Music Festival. This event honors the rich heritage of gospel music and its influence on society. Scheduled for June 7, 2025, at Unity Park in downtown Valdosta, attendees will be treated to a series of captivating performances by various artists, including gospel groups, soloists, rappers, and musicians. The festival not only celebrates musical talent but also supports a local charity, Lowndes Associated Ministries to People Inc. (LAMP), which provides essential services to those in need.

In an effort to highlight the spirit of giving, this year’s festival will focus on raising funds for LAMP through voluntary donations. Established as a compassionate faith-based community, LAMP offers temporary emergency shelter alongside comprehensive support services for homeless individuals and families within Lowndes County and surrounding areas. Their mission underscores the belief that every person deserves basic human needs such as food, clothing, shelter, and love. By aligning the festival's charitable goals with LAMP's values, VocalFlo aims to create a meaningful impact in the community.

The festival itself promises an engaging afternoon filled with music and fellowship. Running from 3 PM to 8 PM, it invites the public to bring lawn chairs, sun tents, or blankets for a comfortable outdoor experience. Official T-shirts commemorating the event are no longer available for pre-sale; however, a limited number will be sold at the venue, with all proceeds going directly to LAMP. Additionally, Creole Sol has generously sponsored the event's food offerings, adding another layer of cultural richness to the occasion.

Adding flair to the festival is DJ T-NASHAE, a distinguished alumna of Valdosta State University and an accomplished radio personality. Known for her dynamic presence and extensive broadcasting experience across several states, she brings a unique energy to the event. Her involvement ensures that the audience enjoys a seamless blend of traditional and contemporary gospel sounds throughout the day.

This vibrant gathering serves as both a tribute to gospel music and a testament to community solidarity. Through the power of song and shared purpose, the festival fosters connections among participants while supporting a noble cause. As VocalFlo continues to grow this annual tradition, they inspire others to join in celebrating Black Music Month in style and substance.
