Concerns about rising water levels are particularly pronounced south of St. Louis, where rivers and streams may reach critical thresholds. Meteorologists warn that areas extending toward Kentucky, Tennessee, and Arkansas should prepare for potential inundation. Meanwhile, Iowa's state climatologist, Justin Glisan, highlights the possibility of severe hail accompanying the storm as it moves across Iowa. However, he anticipates a brief window of opportunity for farmers to resume fieldwork following the weekend's weather disturbances.

Eastern Corn Belt states such as Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky face heightened risks of additional flooding due to recent historical water events. Experts estimate prior storms caused damages exceeding $80 billion. With forecasts predicting substantial rainfall over the next week, planting operations might encounter further interruptions. On the other hand, western Corn Belt regions require sustained precipitation throughout the growing season to mitigate lingering drought effects observed since 2020.

In contrast, vital winter wheat production zones, including Kansas and parts of Nebraska, remain largely unaffected by this system. Despite its passage, these areas continue to endure prolonged dry spells. Agricultural reports underscore dire conditions for topsoil and crop health in these locations.
