2025-03-25

Young enthusiasts of the arts are in for a treat this summer as the Oregon Coast Council for the Arts unveils its lineup of creative day camps. Designed for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, these programs promise to engage budding artists and performers in an enriching experience.

Kicking off the series is the highly anticipated Shakespeare Camp, set to unfold from June 16 to 27 at the Newport Performing Arts Center. Under the guidance of seasoned instructor Milo Graamans, participants entering grades six through twelve will immerse themselves in the world of theater. This year’s highlight will be a captivating rendition of "Hamlet," featuring elements of romance, intrigue, and action. Through hands-on workshops and collaborative efforts, attendees will bring this timeless classic to life on stage.

Through such initiatives, the arts council fosters creativity and self-expression among young learners. By engaging them in meaningful artistic endeavors, it nurtures their passion for performance and visual arts. These opportunities not only enhance their skills but also instill confidence and teamwork, preparing them for future challenges in any field they choose to pursue.
