Previously, minor infractions could accumulate and lead to suspensions, which was particularly challenging for long-standing creators. Now, Twitch has implemented a system where less severe violations, such as cheating in online games, will be automatically removed from user records after 90 days. However, more egregious actions, like engaging in hateful conduct, will remain on an account for up to two years. The platform emphasizes that this change does not provide a free pass; instead, it aims to encourage compliance with community guidelines through progressive consequences.

To further reinforce responsible behavior, Twitch has introduced escalating penalties for repeated violations within the same category. Each subsequent offense will result in longer suspensions, regardless of whether the severity remains unchanged.
