Eligibility and Artwork Guidelines
The contest is open to Douglas County residents across three age groups: Pre-K to 2nd grade, 3rd to 5th grade, and 6th to 8th grade. Participants can create their original hand-drawn entries on the provided contest drawing page or an 8.5 x 11-inch sheet of unlined, white paper. The artwork will be judged on its originality, creativity, and concept alignment with the theme: "A Sheriff's Office Community Christmas."To ensure a fair and inclusive competition, each participant is limited to submitting a single entry. The winners from each eligibility group will be selected by the Sheriff's Office staff, who will meticulously evaluate the submissions to identify the most captivating and imaginative designs. This prestigious honor will grant the selected artists the opportunity to have their artwork featured on the official 2024 Douglas County Sheriff's Office Christmas card, a cherished keepsake that will be shared throughout the community.
Submission Process and Deadlines
The entry period for the 5th Annual Christmas Card Drawing Contest runs from November 3 to December 2. Participants can either mail their submissions, ensuring they are postmarked by December 2, or drop them off in person at the Sheriff's Office. Alternatively, entries can be emailed to the designated address, dcso.pio@co.douglas.or.us.To complete the submission process, each entry must be accompanied by a signed entry form, which can be downloaded from the official contest website, www.dcso.com/contest.
