This week marks the culmination of regular-season competitions for several teams, while others gear up for the postseason. Here’s a comprehensive overview of where local athletes will be competing.

Kicking off on Thursday, May 8, various sports events are scheduled to take place. In baseball, Royal High School will face Cashmere at 4 p.m. Tennis enthusiasts can catch Ephrata, Othello, and Quincy participating in the East Valley 2A District 5 Championships starting at 9 a.m. Golfers from these schools will also compete at Lakeview Golf & Country Club for the Girls' District Championship beginning at 11 a.m. Track meets are set for later that afternoon, with Ephrata traveling to Grandview High School at 3:30 p.m. Soccer fans won't want to miss Wahluke versus Connell at 5 p.m., followed by Royal against Cashmere at 7 p.m.

Moving into Friday and Saturday, the action continues with doubleheaders in baseball and softball. On Friday, MLHS takes on Eastmont High School twice in baseball matches at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m., while their softball counterparts do the same at 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. Warden faces Kittitas in Pasco at noon. Soccer sees MLHS back in action against Eastmont at 7 p.m. Saturday brings more excitement, including an early start for tennis matches involving Lind-Ritzville and MLHS, as well as track championships hosted by Royal High School at 10:30 a.m. Softball showcases Royal versus Omak at Gateway/Kiwanis Park starting at 11 a.m.
