Upper West Side Culinary Celebration Returns with New Partners
2025-03-26

A beloved food festival is set to return to Manhattan's Upper West Side, bringing together culinary delights from a wide range of neighborhood eateries. Known as the Taste of the West Side, this event marks its 15th edition after skipping last year. Scheduled for May 30th and 31st at the Louis Brandeis Campus on West 84th Street, the festival features notable changes in sponsorship and organization. Previously managed by the Columbus Avenue Business Improvement District, it will now be hosted under the banner of the New York Post and Lifeforce in Later Years, a charitable initiative. Tickets have already gone on sale, offering an early bird discount until April 1st.

This year’s festival promises a vibrant showcase of local gastronomy over two evenings. On Friday, May 30th, guests can indulge in offerings from restaurants such as Bustan, Ella Social, Gabriel’s Bar & Restaurant, and many more. The evening runs from 7 PM to 10 PM, providing ample time to savor diverse cuisines. Saturday night continues the feast starting at 7:45 PM, featuring additional establishments like Cafe Luxemborg, Bodrum, Chama Mama, and others. Attendees will experience everything from gourmet desserts to authentic international dishes.

The transition in hosting responsibilities reflects broader shifts within the community. By aligning with the New York Post and Lifeforce in Later Years, organizers aim to enhance both the event's profile and its philanthropic impact. This partnership not only secures future editions but also amplifies opportunities for fundraising efforts tied to elder care initiatives through Lifeforce in Later Years.

Beyond sampling delicious meals, attendees are encouraged to engage with participating vendors and learn about their unique contributions to the local dining scene. With nearly forty restaurants represented across the two nights, there is something for every palate. Early ticket purchases remain advantageous, ensuring access while enjoying discounted pricing.

As the festival draws closer, anticipation builds among food enthusiasts eager to reconnect with cherished traditions and discover new favorites. Through collaboration between established institutions and emerging talents, the Taste of the West Side reinforces its role as a cornerstone of community life on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Whether you're a long-time resident or just visiting, this event offers an unparalleled opportunity to celebrate shared culinary passions.
