A recent incident involving a motor vehicle theft has left authorities in Vernon Parish, Louisiana, actively pursuing a young suspect. According to reports, a 19-year-old individual from the Shreveport region is now wanted for allegedly stealing a car during a meeting with the seller.
The alleged theft occurred on February 21 when the suspect and an accomplice contacted a person advertising a 2015 Dodge Challenger for sale through social media platforms. The duo proceeded to the seller's residence to inspect the vehicle. During this encounter, the suspect took the Challenger for a test drive while his companion waited in a black Kia Optima equipped with a temporary Louisiana license plate. After visiting a nearby mall for fuel, the suspect abruptly fled the scene in the Challenger, leaving the owner stranded. Simultaneously, the accomplice also made a hasty departure in the Optima.
Law enforcement believes the suspect is currently within the Shreveport/Bossier City vicinity. Authorities are urging community members who have any information regarding the whereabouts of the suspect or the involved vehicles to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation. This case underscores the importance of vigilance and caution when engaging in private transactions, especially those involving high-value items like automobiles. It serves as a reminder that taking preventive measures can help protect individuals from becoming victims of such crimes.
