A remarkable event unfolded on March 7, as young creators displayed their masterpieces at "The Great Kids Art Exhibit." The setting was lively yet inviting, drawing approximately a hundred visitors who meandered through the gallery. A duo named "10 by Two" provided an engaging soundtrack, with Bob Aul playing upright bass and Pete Colby strumming the electric guitar. This gathering served as a celebration of creativity fostered by the All the Arts for All the Kids Foundation.
The foundation's mission revolves around delivering innovative art education to children in collaboration with the Fullerton School District. Each year, nearly 10,500 students from kindergarten to sixth grade benefit from these enriching experiences guided by professional artists. These sessions span various disciplines, including visual arts, music, dance, and theater. According to Lauralyn Eschner, the Creative Director, this initiative is deeply personal—a labor of love that began in 1992. Over the years, it has amassed nearly three million dollars in support, enabling the realization of long-held aspirations like securing a permanent venue in downtown Fullerton last November.
Inspired by its newfound space, the organization is poised to expand its reach beyond children, welcoming adults and teenagers into its fold. During the upcoming Fullerton School District Spring Break, daily classes will be offered, details of which can be found on Facebook. Additionally, a summer camp dubbed "Arts Adventure Camp" is set to launch soon. Such endeavors underscore the importance of nurturing artistic expression within communities, fostering growth, innovation, and connection among individuals of all ages.
