Exciting Developments Transform La Crosse's Valley View Mall
2025-01-29

The once-vacant site of the former Macy’s store at Valley View Mall in La Crosse, Wisconsin, is undergoing a significant transformation. The area has been divided into ten distinct plots, with several projects already underway. According to Tim Acklin, the Planning Manager for the City of La Crosse, construction has begun on three of these parcels. A Mister Car Wash and Raising Cane’s are among the first establishments to break ground, with their foundations currently being laid. As spring approaches, the community can anticipate seeing these structures rise rapidly. Additionally, a Panda Express will soon join the mix, occupying one of the prime locations within the mall complex.

Beyond these initial developments, more exciting plans are on the horizon. One parcel is slated to feature a Starbucks drive-thru, currently under plan review. Acklin noted that discussions between GMX Real Estate Group, the project’s lead developer, and potential tenants for the remaining lots are ongoing. While some details remain confidential, it is clear that the mall’s revitalization is progressing steadily. Across the street, the former Red Lobster location is also set for change, with renderings and blueprints submitted for a new Crew Car Wash facility. This addition will bring the total number of car washes operated by the Indiana-based company near the mall to five.

These developments signify not only economic growth but also enhanced convenience and variety for residents and visitors alike. The influx of new businesses promises to create job opportunities and invigorate the local economy. As the year progresses, the community can look forward to witnessing the continued evolution of this key commercial area, fostering a vibrant and dynamic environment that supports both commerce and community engagement.
