The proposed arts center is envisioned as a regional cultural nexus equipped for performances, arts education, and communal gatherings. To tailor the project to the community’s aspirations, input from various groups including local artists and residents will be gathered via public meetings, Cultural Arts Commission sessions, and Town Council discussions. These forums will provide opportunities for feedback and clarification throughout the design phase. The location, spanning 3.67 acres at 4200 River Walk Drive, sits within the expansive Riverwalk district—a vibrant mixed-use development featuring tree-lined pathways connecting retail, dining, residential areas, and event spaces across its 158 acres.

During the planning stages, several key features are anticipated, such as a main stage theater, a flexible black-box performance venue, multipurpose rooms dedicated to music and dance, classrooms, practice and studio spaces for musicians, and production areas. Administrative offices, support facilities, gallery spaces for rotating exhibitions and receptions, and an outdoor performance area linked to the trail system and nearby eateries and shops are also part of the vision. These elements aim to create a cohesive environment conducive to creativity and interaction.

The town anticipates completing the design phase by spring 2026, marking a pivotal step toward realizing this ambitious cultural initiative.
