Food Truck Events Set to Expand Across Reno
2025-03-28

An exciting new chapter is on the horizon for Food Truck Fridays as they announce plans to broaden their reach with additional locations. Starting mid-June and running weekly until early August, these events will now include two new venues: North Valleys Regional Park for Thursday nights and Cyan Park in south Reno for Wednesdays. This expansion comes after 13 years of successful operations, reflecting the growing demand within Reno's vibrant community.

The decision to expand was made by Steve Schroeder, owner of the popular food truck event series. After more than a decade of success, Schroeder recognized the need to bring this beloved tradition closer to residents across the city. With Reno experiencing significant growth over the years, it became clear that expanding the footprint of Food Truck Fridays would allow more people to enjoy the culinary delights offered by local vendors.

North Valleys Regional Park has been selected as one of the new sites for these gatherings, hosting lively events every Thursday night. Meanwhile, Cyan Park in south Reno will serve as an additional hub where attendees can gather on Wednesdays. Both locations promise to offer a welcoming atmosphere filled with delicious food options, live entertainment, and opportunities for families and friends to connect.

This initiative received strong support from local authorities, including the Washoe County Open Space and Regional Parks Commission, who unanimously approved the proposed schedule changes earlier this week. The commission’s endorsement highlights not only the popularity of these events but also their potential to enhance community engagement and foster a sense of belonging among participants.

As summer approaches, residents and visitors alike eagerly anticipate the arrival of these expanded food truck events. By incorporating new venues into their lineup, Food Truck Fridays aims to create even more memorable experiences while celebrating the rich diversity of Reno’s culinary landscape. Through this innovative approach, the organizers hope to inspire greater participation and enjoyment from all corners of the region.
