In a breathtaking celebration that seamlessly merged Eastern and Western traditions, Shivani and Viman chose Marrakech as the backdrop for their wedding. The couple's vision was to create an unforgettable experience that honored both their cultural roots and personal styles. With meticulous planning and expert coordination, every detail was carefully crafted to ensure a unique and memorable event. From the choice of venues to the innovative design elements, this wedding stood out for its creativity and attention to detail. Guests were transported to a royal palace, while the couple enjoyed a perfect blend of tradition and modernity, culminating in a ceremony that truly reflected their shared heritage.
Shivani and Viman’s decision to marry in Marrakech was driven by their desire to bridge two worlds. The city provided the ideal setting, allowing them to incorporate elements from both Indian and Western cultures. For the main events, they selected The Oberoi, Marrakech, known for its stunning courtyard, while guests stayed at the luxurious Royal Mansour. Surrounded by towering walls and lush water features, the venue felt like an enchanting palace. Shivani credits Marcy Blum and her team for transforming their vision into reality. “Their creativity and expertise were beyond impressive,” she remarks. “I trusted them completely, which is rare for someone like me who usually likes to be involved in every detail.”
The couple’s goal was to make each event distinct, avoiding repetition and ensuring a fresh experience for everyone. Shivani wanted to avoid using flowers until the wedding day, opting instead for unconventional materials such as metals, fruits, vegetables, plants, spices, and food items. This approach created a series of visually striking and memorable settings. “Marcy and Rishi Patel from HMR Designs helped us achieve something we never imagined possible,” Shivani notes. “Each event had its own unique identity, making the entire experience feel like a series of surprises.”
For her wedding attire, Shivani sought to honor her Indian heritage while also embracing her modern American lifestyle. Growing up in the United States with Indian roots, she wanted her outfits to reflect both sides of her identity. To achieve this, she collaborated with Tanya Vohra of CLAD and Tara Maietta. Together, they crafted a wardrobe that beautifully combined traditional Indian elegance with contemporary flair. “Each outfit told a story about who I am and where I come from,” Shivani explains. “It wasn’t just about wearing beautiful clothes; it was about celebrating my heritage and personal style in a way that felt authentic and meaningful.”
The wedding in Marrakech was more than just a celebration of love; it was a testament to the couple’s commitment to honoring their diverse backgrounds. Through thoughtful planning and creative execution, Shivani and Viman created a truly one-of-a-kind event that left a lasting impression on everyone who attended. The seamless fusion of Eastern and Western traditions showcased their ability to bring different worlds together in harmony, resulting in a wedding that was as unique as it was unforgettable.
