A renowned Italian manufacturer of espresso equipment, La Marzocco, has unveiled a new app designed to replace separate applications tailored for home and professional users. This innovative platform not only consolidates scheduling and adjustment functionalities but also introduces the Coffee Station feature, enabling users to link various pieces of equipment. The app is available free of charge for both Android and Apple devices. It fosters an ecosystem of interconnected machines and devices, enhancing user experience through seamless transitions between grind-by-weight and brew-by-weight functions.
This latest app signifies a major leap forward in connecting different products with advanced features that La Marzocco has progressively introduced over the last two years. For instance, it facilitates the connection of a La Marzocco Connected Scale to a La Marzocco Pico grinder and a Linea Mini espresso machine for home users. Professional users benefit from attaching the Connected Scale with a custom portafilter holder to the Swan grinder, providing GBW functionality. Furthermore, the Auto Brew Ratio (ABR) system integrated into many existing commercial espresso models allows brewing by weight.
In addition to these capabilities, La Marzocco has formed strategic alliances with other manufacturers to enhance device connectivity. Collaborations include developing the Connected Scale with Acaia and launching the Sync system with professional grinder maker Mahlkönig. Aric Forbing, La Marzocco's Technical Product Manager, emphasized the company's substantial investment in equipment connectivity, which enables adding new features to existing equipment and offering insights into coffee-making processes.
The vision moving forward involves designing products that fit within the Coffee Station ecosystem, leveraging this connectivity's power. By doing so, La Marzocco aims to redefine how coffee enthusiasts interact with their brewing tools, whether at home or in professional settings.
La Marzocco continues to push boundaries in the coffee industry by integrating technology seamlessly into its product offerings. Through this unified app, users gain enhanced control and precision over their coffee-making processes, setting a new standard for connectivity in the field. As the company expands its ecosystem, the potential for innovation in connected coffee equipment remains vast, promising exciting developments for coffee lovers worldwide.
