Numerous representatives from various religious and nonprofit entities visited the House on the Hill Inc., where they loaded their vehicles with essential items donated by generous residents.

According to Erin Caudill, the Community Engagement Manager for United Way of Southern Kentucky (UWSK), maintaining well-stocked food pantries is crucial for ensuring continuous service to those in need. In recent times, some organizations have had to reduce operational hours due to dwindling supplies. However, the success of this year's event promises to provide ample resources for several months ahead, allowing these vital services to continue uninterrupted. The UWSK ensures that all contributions remain within the county where they were collected, fostering a strong sense of local involvement and responsibility.

Inspiring tales of community spirit and generosity are often highlighted during such events. Over the past 15 years, this initiative has amassed over a million items, showcasing the enduring commitment of the community to help those less fortunate. Last year alone saw nearly 65,000 items donated, and preliminary figures suggest this year’s total surpassed 60,000 contributions.
