A fresh chapter in the story of Paradeco Coffee Roasters unfolds as the renowned Florida-based coffee company debuts its latest venture at the SkyBeach Resort in St. Petersburg. This new establishment, nestled by the resort’s pool deck, not only reflects the brand’s signature Art Deco aesthetic but also incorporates cutting-edge sustainable design practices. The café features a vibrant interior palette and an innovative 3D-printed façade that aligns seamlessly with the tropical ambiance of its surroundings. Through collaborations with local and international designers, Paradeco has created a space that combines functionality with artistic flair while staying true to their commitment to sustainability and quality.
Inspired by the allure of paradise, Paradeco Coffee Co-Founder Sonya Sarkar envisioned this location as the perfect extension of their brand ethos. Nestled beside a majestic banyan tree, the outdoor seating area provides guests with breathtaking views of the waterfront. Inside, the café bursts with color, blending shades of pink, cyan, and gold into its decor. A standout feature is the wavy 3D-printed pattern adorning the coffee bar’s exterior, crafted from recycled materials by Haddy, a St. Pete-based specialist in sustainable design. This collaboration extended further through UK-based designer Sofia Hagen, whose vision brought the "Breath of Fresh Air" concept to life. Hagen emphasized how the project pushed boundaries in merging art, technology, and nature, creating a truly unique experience for visitors.
The café’s architectural choices reflect a thoughtful consideration of both aesthetics and practicality. Every element, from the windows and tiles to the stone-surfaced bar and robust furniture, was selected to withstand the challenges posed by Florida’s coastal climate. Sarkar explained that the primary objective was to construct a waterproof and indestructible coffee bar capable of enduring hurricanes—a goal successfully achieved when the structure remained unscathed during last fall’s Tampa Bay storms. Such resilience underscores Paradeco’s dedication to innovation and durability.
Inside the café, patrons are greeted by state-of-the-art equipment, including a custom La Marzocco Linea espresso machine and a matching Fetco batch brewer. These machines support a menu closely resembling that of their downtown counterpart, offering a diverse selection of single-origin microlot coffees, many sourced from women-owned farms. Currently operating offsite due to repairs on their Bellwether roasting machine, Paradeco remains committed to delivering exceptional quality. Looking ahead, Sarkar expressed aspirations to expand wholesale opportunities once stability is established at the new locale.
Complementing their coffee offerings, Paradeco serves grain bowls, toasts, sandwiches, salads, syrups, and sauces prepared with organic ingredients within their on-site kitchen. Embracing the wellness café moniker, their culinary options emphasize gluten- and dairy-free alternatives enriched with superfoods like turmeric, cacao, and spirulina, ensuring there’s something delightful for everyone.
Located at 6800 Sunshine Skyway Ln S., the Paradeco Coffee Roasters outpost at SkyBeach Hotel & Marina invites visitors to indulge in an unparalleled sensory journey. By integrating stunning visuals, eco-conscious practices, and top-tier products, Paradeco continues to redefine the coffeehouse experience, setting a benchmark for others in the industry to aspire towards.
