Community Easter Food Drive Seeks Support for Vulnerable Families
2025-03-27

As the Easter season draws near, local organizations in Rochester are urging residents to contribute to efforts aimed at assisting families facing hardships. The United & Healing Through Hope initiative has teamed up with Tops Friendly Markets for their yearly Easter food basket campaign, seeking both volunteers and donations to address ongoing food insecurity issues exacerbated by recent global challenges.

In response to growing community needs, Clay Harris of United & Healing Through Hope emphasized the critical importance of this year's drive. Over the past several years, economic disruptions tied to the pandemic have significantly increased the number of households struggling to access basic necessities like food. This partnership aims to bridge that gap by collecting essential items and funds.

The campaign invites individuals from across Monroe County to participate by donating either groceries or monetary contributions. Donations will be accepted until mid-April at various Tops locations spanning multiple towns, including Rochester, Brighton, Greece, Irondequoit, Henrietta, and Penfield. Volunteers play a crucial role in organizing and distributing these much-needed resources.

This collaborative effort underscores the resilience and compassion of local communities coming together during challenging times. By rallying support, organizers hope not only to meet immediate needs but also foster long-term solutions for food security within the region.

Through collective action, the community can ensure that no family goes without essential provisions during the festive Easter period. Such initiatives highlight the power of unity and shared responsibility in creating positive change on a grassroots level.
