High School Artists Shine at Statewide Visual Arts Festival

On April 22, the Mound Westonka High School showcased its artistic prowess at the Minnesota State High School League's Visual Arts Festival held in Chaska. This event is renowned as the largest regional art competition across the state. Two senior students, Emmy Levitz and Astrid Nelson, were distinguished with Judge’s Choice: Spotlight on the Arts Awards. Their achievements have earned them a place in the upcoming state-level contest scheduled for May 10 at the Perpich Center for Arts Education in Golden Valley. With 18 artworks entered by 17 talented artists, Westonka excelled, receiving 14 Superior awards alongside three Awards of Excellence.

The journey to this significant accomplishment began when Mound Westonka High School decided to participate in the prestigious Minnesota State High School League's Visual Arts Festival.
