A forward-thinking approach to workspace design has transformed a public relations firm's office into a hub of innovation and teamwork. Located in Sheung Wan, northwest Hong Kong, the new office environment is characterized by its open-plan layout, which promotes interaction among employees. The founder and CEO of Sinclair, Kiri Sinclair, emphasized that creating an inviting space is key to motivating staff. An atmosphere where individuals feel comfortable and inspired naturally encourages them to come to work with enthusiasm. As a creative enterprise, Sinclair believes that bringing people together for brainstorming sessions and collaborative projects enhances productivity and creativity.

The design of the office includes versatile meeting areas and sustainable elements. With sustainability at the forefront, the architects were instructed to focus on reusable and repurposable materials. Although reusing furniture proved more costly than purchasing new items, Sinclair remained committed to this environmentally friendly choice. About 80% to 85% of existing furniture was retained and adapted for the new location. Situated on a higher floor with windows all around, the office benefits from abundant natural light, contributing to a bright and airy ambiance that uplifts spirits and fosters creativity. Despite being slightly smaller than the previous office, the design gives a sense of openness and expansiveness. Greenery plays a significant role too, with plants enhancing the natural elements within the industrial-style decor.

The office serves as a daily workspace for local and regional teams from Shanghai and Singapore. Most employees choose to come in four to five days a week, indicating a strong preference for the office environment over remote work options. This arrangement not only facilitates learning through proximity to senior colleagues but also ensures a vibrant, dynamic workplace culture. By prioritizing sustainability, collaboration, and employee well-being, Sinclair sets an exemplary standard for modern office design, proving that thoughtful planning can significantly boost morale and creativity.
