A Closer Look at Worcester's Upcoming Events

On March 28, in the heart of Worcester at Rockland Trust Plaza, the Worcester Renaissance Market kicks off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m., followed by festivities including live performances, local vendors, and delicious food options. This event runs from noon until 8 p.m. Later in the day, sports enthusiasts can head over to cheer on the Woo Sox during their opening game against the Syracuse Mets at 3:05 p.m., concluding with UniBank's Friday night fireworks display.

The following day, March 29, brings the Punk Rock Flea Market to Hotel Vernon. Running from 1 to 7 p.m., this market showcases unique items such as clothing, jewelry, books, and more, alongside live entertainment featuring Boston-based comic Cynthia X. Wang and musician Mike Kane. Also on March 29, music lovers can enjoy performances by The Infinity Tribe and Leon Trout at Electric Haze starting at 8 p.m.

Spiritual seekers are invited to First Unitarian Church on March 30 for a special Music Sunday service celebrating Haitian-American composer Sydney Guillaume's works. Attendees will experience music sung in Haitian Creole, emphasizing themes like hope and resilience. Afterward, guests can partake in a social hour offering Haitian cuisine.

Finally, also on March 30, the Prior Performing Arts Center welcomes the Sphinx Virtuosi chamber orchestra, consisting of 18 Black and Latinx artists. Their concert titled “American Form/s” blends various musical genres within a classical framework. Additionally, orchestra members will engage with students from local schools and Holy Cross, fostering educational connections through music.
