This year, the vibrant city of Jamestown is set to host its much-anticipated Third Thursdays Jamestown concert series. Kicking off on May 15, this event promises to bring life and energy to downtown with an impressive lineup of performances spanning from regional acts to local favorites. Organized by the Jamestown Renaissance Corporation and other sponsors, the concerts will take place every third Thursday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Winter Garden Plaza on North Main Street. Attendees can enjoy live music while standing, sitting on benches, or bringing their own lawn chairs. In case of inclement weather, the events will relocate to Jamestown Skate Products.
The concert series will feature a diverse range of musical genres and theatrical performances. Among the highlights is Madness Most Discreet's spring production of "Moonlight Revels," a reimagined version of Shakespeare’s "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." This immersive adaptation aims to make classic theater more accessible to all audiences. Another notable addition is the pre-event "Jumpstart to Third Thursday," where downtown businesses will offer special promotions and unique experiences from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., creating a festive atmosphere before the main shows begin.
As the schedule unfolds, June 19 will introduce audiences to Tsavo Highway and St. Vith, showcasing indie rock sounds alongside a set by local singer-songwriter Jade Giambrone. On July 17, Lazlo Hollyfeld and Smackdab will evoke memories of evenings spent at Mojo’s bar and music venue, blending art rock with local talent. The series continues into August with Damone Jackson Outcome and Elektra Kings, delivering improvisational fusion sounds that promise an unforgettable experience for music enthusiasts.
Closing out the season on September 18, the Charity Nuse Trio and Adrianna Noone Trio will wrap up the series with soulful performances. Fans of jazz and vocal harmony won't want to miss these final acts as they highlight both established and emerging artists.
Beyond the music itself, the Third Thursdays Jamestown concert series fosters community spirit and showcases the rich cultural tapestry of the region. With new additions like the Jumpstart pre-event and a commitment to inclusivity through performances such as "Moonlight Revels," this series stands out as a must-attend event for anyone looking to celebrate creativity and connection in Jamestown.
